some more eventful days!
right when i was fretting about internals on 2 consecutive days-11th and 12th of august, our clinical internals in surgery got preponed to 8th august from 11th and the obg theory internals got postponed to 19th august. call it divine intervention!!! by the way, we have pediatrics internals coming up on 23rd august, both the subjects have quite a lot to be read, but at least we got a chance to DIE ANOTHER DAY!
and the surgery internals itself- they got over on 8th,friday. i had to take a thrombo angitis obliterans(TAO) case, seen exclusively in males, in smokers only. people who are sensitive to nicotine in smoke develop severe inflammatory reactions in their blood vessels-especially small and medium sized vessels and blood flow to the parts supplied is severely affected, especially lower limbs.
this guy had one of his legs amputated- above knee and the other leg also was suffering from lack of blood supply too. it looked like he would need amputation of that leg too!
so smokers, beware, you never know what all could happen if you smoke! patients with TAO literally poison themselves when they smoke!!!
my net was down(yet gain) and the reason behind this was fault in the wiring in my house. so the phone guys set up a temporary connection for the phone only and i had no broadband for 4 days!
today i decided to take things into my own hands and purchased an 8m long telephone wire and connected it to the adsl modem myself through the adsl splitter but it did not work! the fault was with the splitter, there was a loose connection, damn! after several tries with fixing it with small bits of paper, i managed to get my connection working and am blogging now through this connection itself. wow, i fixed this(may be temporary), feeling quite happy right now!
