right when i was fretting about internals on 2 consecutive days-11th and 12th of august, our clinical internals in surgery got preponed to 8th august from 11th and the obg theory internals got postponed to 19th august. call it divine intervention!!! by the way, we have pediatrics internals coming up on 23rd august, both the subjects have quite a lot to be read, but at least we got a chance to DIE ANOTHER DAY! and the surgery internals itself- they got over on 8th,friday. i had to take a thrombo angitis obliterans(TAO) case, seen exclusively in males, in smokers only. people who are sensitive to nicotine in smoke develop severe inflammatory reactions in their blood vessels-especially small and medium sized vessels and blood flow to the parts supplied is severely affected, especially lower limbs. this guy had one of his legs amputated- above knee and the other leg also was suffering from lack of blood supply too. it looked like he would need amputation of that leg too! so smokers, beware...
